Currently, the counting of variants of a worker process (i.e. due to detach/restart a new variant must be created to avoid port collisions, see also How_to_Gateway), is global
for the whole worker process management. This leads to always increasing numbers even in situations where there is no detach happening, i.e. where there is no risk
of port collisions.
